Aujan Industries invites community to share sweet Ramadan moments

Dubai, September 24, 2006: Aujan Industries, the largest privately owned, independent soft drink and confectionery manufacturer, marketer and distributor in the Middle East, and IC Events will play host to a Ramadan campaign with a difference this Holy Month, with The Living Room. Located at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, the giant marquee will open on the first day of Ramadan offering daily Iftars and Suhours to both corporates and individuals throughout the Holy Month.

The 600-person capacity Living Room will be divided into separate sections, which are being sponsored by Aujan’s Vimto, Barbican and Hani brands, and will provide guests with a relaxed setting, light entertainment and activities for kids. In addition, 20 percent of revenues taken during the Holy Month will be donated to charities, which will be overseen by Dubai Humanitarian City and Dubai Media City. The funds will go to provide basic necessities to youngsters in Palestine and Lebanon, helping to improve their standards of living.

Tolga Sezer, Head of Marketing at Aujan Industries, said: “Ramadan is a month of compassion and mercy, and The Living Room provides us with the ideal community platform, with which to reach out to the general public. We aim to be part of a responsible society, and we felt this was a great way for people to show their support for those less fortunate, while still enjoying the sweet moments of Ramadan.”

The Living Room will be open daily from 5pm to 3am, offering either buffet or a la carte menus, with a choice of Arabic or continental cuisine. Soft background music will lend to the overall calm and tranquility of the setting, while diners can enjoy traditional shisha, in a variety of flavours. Guests will also be able to partake in video and board, snooker and traditional Ramadan programming, which will be broadcast on plasma TVs located throughout The Living Room.

The Living Room aims to attract people from all walks of life who are looking to experience Ramadan, and at the same time, provide a platform through which they can support the continuous fundraising efforts for the children of Lebanon and Palestine.

Furnished to represent the living room, the fully ventilated and air-conditioned venue has comfortable seating areas for families and large groups. To keep the little ones busy, The Living Room also has a special designated kids’ play area furnished by Toys ‘R’ Us.
