Derek Khan

"In the world of music there's a hierarchy of fashion stylists who double as image builders, and Derek Khan is definitely at the TOP  of that echelon."
New York Times

"He got down as great with the hip-hop crowd as he did with the upper-crust fashion crowd."
Carrol Brody Ellis, Harry Winston for The New York Times.

"New artists loved Derek, not only because he came with experience but he knew how to be a diva and he would help them develop that attitude, that star quality."
 Arista Records.

"He was instrumental in introducing high fashion to the hip-hop community,"
Anne Fahey, Chanel.  Crowned The King of Bling, by US Vogue, Derek Khan is the man responsible for introducing high end fashion(Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, Versace etc.) and jewels ( Van Cleff and Arpels ,Harry Winston and Graff) to the of world of R&B and Hip Hop. Derek Khan taught Mary J Blige how to be a diva, he showed P Diddy how to dress and Pink has him on speed dial.

Born in the lovely Caribbean island Trinidad  he left for the bright lights of New York City  as a youth, and worked with fashion luminaries such as Hubert De Givenchy and Yves Saint Laurent, before being beckoned by music studios to give much needed makeovers to their up and coming stars.

Pink, Sean 'P' Diddy'Combs, Mary J Blige, Carlos Santanna, Lauren Hill, Queen Latifa are just some of the stars who owe their iconic style to Derek.

With the fashion industry looking toward Hip Hop idols to reinvigorate their brands and sell them to a younger market, it was not long before Derek, himself was making headlines in Vogue, The New York Times and Harpers Bazaar, for his extravagant lifestyle and star studded entourage.

Continually breaking records throughout his career, Derek Khan is the only stylist to be credited at the prestigious Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute's Rock Style Exhibit 2000, where four of his outfits were on display.

Not content with being a household name in music and fashion, Derek agreed to be a guest celebrity judge on America's Next Top Model, for his friend Tyra Banks, which went on to be an international sensation, and he has also been the subject of documentaries about fashion and rock and roll, on VH1 and MTV.

As a fashion commentator for CNBC he has interviewed major fashion icons including Beyonce Knowles, Sara Jessica Parker and Oscar de la Renta to name a  few .

"Just seeing these beautiful women walking around with Bottega Veneta and Hermes handbags and stunning make up made me feel right at home. This is my playground", Derek said "I am looking forward to bringing my flare and electric sense of style here. I have a few ideas up my sleeves which will bring the Bling to the region".

"I have been doing my homework and there are some Arabic celebrities I would love to get my hands on such as Nancy Ajram, Haifa Wahbi and Diana Haddad. They are absolutely stunning but there is always room for improvement and a bit of a Derek touch" Derek added.

Always being ahead of the game and recognizing the region as being the next best world class destination Derek has decided to make Dubai his new home.
