Emaar constructs the biggest football screening venue

Dubai, UAE, 10thJune 2006 – Dubai’s property giant Emaar Properties, scores yet again with Dubai’s first! This time sponsors of Dubai’s largest sports screening venue to broadcast the biggest sporting event in the world! To mark this most celebrated event World Cup 2006, Emaar sponsored and launched yesterday Dubai’s first ever football marquee at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre.

Dubbed EMAAR FOOTBALL FRENZY 2006, the event was officially inaugurated by Mohammed Al Mulla, Director Dubai Media City and was attended by officials, dignitaries VIPs and sponsors from Emaar, Puma, Power House, Al Jazeera Sports Channel, Ford, guests and fans!

Representatives from Emaar announced their involvement with the EMAAR FOOTBALL FRENZY 2006 as well as pledged their commitment to supporting this sport here in UAE. Delegates and guests were treated to a front row viewing experience as the screens flashed the opening ceremony celebration of World Cup 2006 from Germany.

Donning their favourite team colours, fans flocked into the giant marquee with a winning spirit as the doors opened to welcome them to the first day of EMAAR FOOTBALL FRENZY 2006. Full house was expected and in hoards they came, football enthusiasts poured into the tent, each looking forward to a much awaited event. And as the giant screens flashed the first game between Germany and Costa Rica, fans went wild to mark the first match of the tournament with the favourite world cup songs.

Organised by I.C. Events, EMAAR FOOTBALL FRENZY 2006 is expected to attract over 30,000 football fans throughout the month long World Cup games. Football fans will be treated to a whole new dimension of live football viewing with 12 giant projection screens, measuring 2m x 2m. For the comfort of the football fans, the marquee is fully ventilated and air-conditioned, provides comfortable bean bags that segregate the seating areas as well as offers refreshments and shishas throughout.
