START's First Project Collaboration with Tashkeel Art Space in Dubai with International Artist Sacha |
|
Dubai, UAE, 8th January, 2008 – START, a unique and exciting non profitable organisation bringing art into the lives of children across the region, is holding two special events hosted for children aged 6-14 on Saturday 21st and 28th of February at the Tashkeel art studio in Dubai. This is a very special opportunity as Tashkeel is a member’s only art space for adults and for these two days has opened its doors to welcome children from across the UAE. International artist Sacha Jafri, who is visiting Dubai, will be hosting the workshop and is inviting children to join him in making an 18foot long painting. Sacha Jafri's previous paintings with the public have included an event held in the UK which attracted over 5000 spectators. From 10.00am – 2.30pm on both Saturdays at Tashkeel, 'Painting my City with Sacha Jafri' will be an opportunity for children to make a large scale, group work that explores new skills in painting and develops methods of collaboration and creative thinking. During 2009 START will be exhibiting the canvases created at these two inspiring workshops. If families are interested in attending they can book in advance but there are only 20 spaces available per session so an early confirmation of interest is recommended.
